Our projects start in the classroom and expand to overall community development. VES partners with communities to provide educational support for students and families. We have also provided community relief in times of need, such as providing resources for communities in Puerto Rico post devastating hurricanes.

We implemented a Ventaja camp on the Georgia Southern Campus in June 2021! With a small group of students we brought many first generation students to the campus for a weeklong STEM program.

This one week intensive summer camp provided math, science and English teaching to 40 students in the community of Pueblo Nuevo, Panama. The grand finale was a field trip to Museo de Afro Antilles. Students listened to stories and historical information on the migration and life of Afro Caribbeans who came to Panama to help build the Panama Canal.
